The Lambton Shores Phragmites Community Group (LSPCG) is an organization of dedicated volunteers committed to working with organizations and private landowners to restore wetland habitat, beaches, and control invasive Phragmites australis. Our Sister Organization
The First Nation Phragmites Control (FNPC) was formed in 2020, born from a growing need Danalynn Williams, from Aamjiwnaang First Nation Territory, witnessed across many territories. Communities were struggling with the invasive plant known as Phragmites and seeking support, guidance, and understanding. The physical spread of this plant was not only causing detrimental impacts to the land but also negatively impacting the emotional and spiritual well-being of First Nation people.
